My first 30 days as a Real Estate Agent

I finally did it! After over a year of self-paced classes and self-paced studying, I passed my state exam, got my fingerprint clearance card, and mailed in my application to the Arizona Department of Real Estate. My Arizona salesperson real estate license is now ACTIVE!!!

So now what?

It’s been almost a month, and I’m still excited and roaring to go, but who do I call?

Probably the most commonly asked question for first-time real estate agents. WHO DO I CALL? WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

Lucky for me, I joined one of the country's fastest-growing and most supportive brokerages. I also found myself in a phenomenal real estate group, full of supportive, like-minded, bright agents – new and experienced, just ready to help!

I’m still figuring out who to call, but we’re working on it.

In the meantime, both my agency and group have set me up with outstanding tools and resources to grow and prepare while I wait for those first few clients to fill up my pipeline.

Not to say I should be sitting around waiting for someone to call me out of the blue and list a million-dollar home. However, by putting my head down and getting to work, I’m setting myself up for what's to come.

As a new agent with EXP, they set me up with everything from a next steps checklist to training modules and daily live classes and seminars. They have thousands of training videos saved in their cloud to learn when I have time. With their cloud-based brokerage, I can bring the office wherever I have wifi!

Finding a great group (or team) has been such a game-changer! People checking in on me and holding me accountable keeps me going even when I don’t know what I’m doing.

Joining the Clear to Close Realty Group gave me a head start most agents might not be so lucky to have. Mike Balicki, the architect of Clear to Close Group, has spent the last four years building his business, creating resources, and sharing them with the group via google drive.  Don’t know what questions to ask for a listing appointment? There’s a file for that. Need time-blocking resources? There’s a file for that. So what do I tell my very first client whose offer didn’t get accepted? There’s a file for that.

If I have a question or need a resource, chances are, it’s on the drive! And if for some reason it’s not? Then they’re going to sit down with me, figure out a solution, and put it on the drive!

Resources are great, but what else can joining a group like Clear to Close offer me? Additional training, additional support. Late-night mind-mapping sessions. A private discord channel with regular live online training sessions. Multiple people to call when you have a question. Budgeting worksheets. Accountability partners.

Now I’ve got an outline of how to proceed. Every day I can sit down at my desk (or couch!) and get to work on my business.

“If you build it, they will come.” - Field of Dreams.

Of course, ultimately, I’ve got to get in front of people to create leads that grow into clients. Well, EXP helps with that too. Within my first two weeks, I had my first couple of leads via lead generation programs, which are provided for me. While these phone conversations may not become anything more, I've already been able to practice my skills and see what I need to be focusing on to be the best, most valuable agent I can be.

You have to work on yourself to build your dream business. Your MINDSET, your skills, routines all affect how you’re going to run your business. By pouring so much into myself, I can truly see how I will be successful. And when I’m working on myself, so I can be the best for myself and my clients it doesn’t feel like work.
